KANJITOPIA
Content & Community Standards
Version 1.0 · Effective June 15, 2026 · Contact: support@kanjitopia.com
Kanjitopia is for learning Japanese, creating, and sharing respectfully. Please don't post content that attacks, degrades, or endangers people, or that breaks the law. We may remove anything that could reasonably be read as hateful, violent, harassing, or exploitative — even if it is not listed below. Content that endangers children is never allowed and is reported.
Our principles
Kanjitopia exists to promote Japanese language learning, creativity, cultural exploration, and respectful exchange among people from all backgrounds. We welcome diverse ideas, artistic expression, and educational discussion. Content that promotes hatred, violence, discrimination, harassment, or the degradation of individuals or groups is not permitted. Users are expected to act respectfully and help keep this a safe, welcoming place.
Prohibited content
The following may be removed or restricted, and may lead to account suspension or termination.
- Child safety (zero tolerance). Content that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers minors is removed immediately, the account is terminated, and the material is reported to the relevant authorities as required by law.
- Hate speech and discrimination. Attacks, dehumanization, hostility, or discrimination based on race or ethnicity, nationality, citizenship, religion or belief, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, cultural background, indigenous status, or immigration status — including slurs, ethnic insults, calls for exclusion, or claims of group superiority.
- Violence and harm. Promoting violence, glorifying terrorism or extremist ideologies, encouraging physical harm, or celebrating mass violence, genocide, ethnic cleansing, or war crimes.
- Harassment and bullying. Targeting individuals for abuse or humiliation, encouraging harassment, threats or intimidation, or coordinated attacks.
- Extremist and terrorist content. Supporting, recruiting for, praising, or promoting terrorist, violent extremist, hate, or violent criminal organizations.
- Cultural, ethnic, and national hostility. Content meant primarily to incite hostility between groups, promote racial or national hatred, degrade cultural identities, or assign collective blame for historical or political events.
- Graphic or disturbing content. Excessive gore, graphic violence, mutilation, or cruelty presented for shock value.
- Illegal or dangerous activities. Criminal activity, terrorism, human trafficking, violent threats, instructions for serious crimes — and malware, phishing, spam, or impersonation.
Sensitive historical and political topics
Language and culture involve historical, political, military, and social topics. Kanjitopia permits educational discussion of such subjects when presented factually, respectfully, in a balanced way, and without incitement to hatred or violence. Content whose primary purpose is political propaganda, ethnic hostility, or historical revisionism may be removed.
Good-faith educational exception
Language learning, cultural education, and historical study may involve difficult topics. Discussion of historical conflicts, political systems, religious traditions, social issues, and wartime events may be allowed when the purpose is educational, analytical, artistic, or scholarly and not intended to promote hatred, discrimination, violence, or harassment.
You and the content you create
You are responsible for content you create, upload, or share, including AI-assisted creations. Creations shared to Kanjitopia — for example to the Gallery — must follow these standards. Kanjitopia may review, remove, edit, restrict the visibility of, or refuse to publish content, and may suspend or terminate accounts, when content violates these standards or presents reputational, legal, safety, or community risk.
Reporting concerns
If you see content that may break these standards, use the Report link on a Gallery creation or email abuse@kanjitopia.com. Reports are reviewed at Kanjitopia's discretion; good-faith reporting is encouraged.
Enforcement
Enforcement actions may include content removal, editing or restriction, temporary suspension, permanent account termination, and reporting to authorities when required by law. Enforcement decisions are made at Kanjitopia's sole discretion. If you believe a decision was a mistake, you may contact support@kanjitopia.com.
When in doubt
If content could reasonably be interpreted by a broad international audience as promoting hatred, discrimination, violence, harassment, ethnic hostility, or cultural degradation, Kanjitopia may restrict or remove it even if it is not explicitly covered by the examples above.
Changes
Kanjitopia may update these standards as the community and the law evolve. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date. This page is operational guidance and not legal advice.
